Andre Onana has insisted he is to blame for getting lobbed by the halfway line during Manchester United's 3-1 win against Lens.

The 27-year-old was starting in his first match at Old Trafford following his arrival from Inter Milan in a deal worth around £47million.

But he was caught in the 23rd minute, as Florian Sotoca spotted the Ghana international on the edge of his penalty area.

Latching onto a misplaced pass from Diogo Dalot, the French striker expertly chipped Onana from just inside United's half.

Onana scrambled back to try and keep the ball out, but it was to no avail, as the ex-Ajax star ended up in the back of the net along with the ball.

Rival fans of United poked fun at the shot-stopper on social media, when in truth, it was a moment of magic from Sotoca to break the deadlock.

Thankfully for Onana, his teammates turned the game around in the second half with Marcus Rashford, Antony and Casemiro getting on the score sheet.

Still, Onana has taken responsibility over Lens' wonder goal when speaking to MUTV.

Speaking of his performance, he said: "I’m happy for the win. Of course we can always be better.

"Some things we have to try to fix. Like I always say, I am responsible for everything especially when we concede goals.
